The downside to poor connections..

And I don't mean people connections. I'm talking about that pesky Internet.
At my house, my mom has this server system called Embarq, and well, it sucks. And her computer (a desktop!) only has 13 gigs on it. Ridiculous.
So, with that being said, my friends (if there are any actual readers) I apologize for the delay in posting. More to come as the day progresses..

Resume Revamped

Hey readers,
I am revamping my resume and would love your feedback! Or if you're a prospective employer, let me know if you have any questions. Let me know what you think of the style, and mainly edit for grammar and usage. As far as facts on circulation size goes, I went with what the wide world of Google suggested, but if you know something about one of these newspapers that I don't, let me know!

And today... on this day.. we celebrate..

our independence day.

I love that movie.

I am sitting in the newsroom listening to the 10 scanners we have going right now and absolutely nothing is going. I just sent our photographer, Trey, to Centerville to cover the Americana festival and then he is going downtown to be our media prescence at Kettering's "Go Fourth!" event.

I am starting to apply at some new jobs, so if anyone reading this out there knows of any newspaper or even a TV station hiring, keep me posted.

My to-do list

Today at work I decided I am going to be productive in planning my life, and you know, the idea of moving to Houston with Katrina is looking more and more appealing. But, don't tell her I said that. (Ha, hi Katrina!)

So today while I work, I am going to whistle. Ha, just kidding, I don't know how to whistle.
I am going to update my resume and send it out to places all around for possible freelance opportunities.
I am also going to send it out to several hundred newspapers just reminding them I am still alive. I think that sounds productive.
Oh, and actually do stuff like assign reporters tonight, take calls, listen to scanners and write for the Web.
This is my ninth day of working straight and I am going to make the most of it since I only have three days next week to work.
Will post my finished resume upon completion.
